    Robert H. “Bob” Robke, age 90, of Germantown, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025. He was born May 17, 1934, in Germantown, a son of the late Herman and Pauline (nee Kniepmann) Robke.

     

    Bob met love of his life, Barb A. Becker, at the Wee Walker Shoe Factory, and they married on April 8, 1961, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso, and she survives in Germantown. Bob was the father of Karen (Mike) Schroeder, Dale (deceased) (Shelly) Robke, Gwen (Joe) Albers, all of Germantown, Jackie (Greg) Schniers of Highland, and Kevin (Nancy) Robke of Aviston; grandfather of Jenna (Joe) Falconio, Kayla (Chad) Barnes, Chad (special friend, Erika) Robke, Calvin (Erin) Robke, Heather Strotheide, Melanie (special friend, Hayden) Albers, Riley Albers, Morgan (Garrett) Boeckmann, Stephen (fiancée, Elizabeth) Schniers, Olivia Robke, and Jake (special friend, Ava) Robke; great-grandfather of Mason and Alyssa Falconio, Ben and Carson Barnes, Gavin and Ambrea Schniers, Evelyn Strotheide, and Ivy Robke; brother of Mary Jane “Mutz” Loepker of Germantown; brother-in-law of Lucille (Frank) Kampwerth of Carlyle, Toni Litzenburg of Carlyle, and Pat Becker of Bartelso; and was survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

     

    In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son, Dale Robke; siblings, Dolores (Frank) Ortmann, Emmy (Jerome “Muscles”) Albers, and Walter Robke in infancy; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Cecilia (nee Jansen) Becker; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Denny Loepker, Ray (Sylvia) Becker, Florence (Paul) Dierkes, Albert “Tossie” (Mary) Becker, Herman Becker, Mary Ann (Andy) Rakers, Donald “Diesel” Becker, Richard “Dickie” Becker, George Litzenburg, Bill Becker, Bob (Laura) Thien, and Johanna (Bill) Haar.

     

    Bob served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. Following his service, he dedicated 35 years to the United States Postal Service, retiring as the Postmaster of Germantown in 1999.

     

    He was an active member of his community and faith, belonging to St. Boniface Catholic Church and Men’s Sodality, Germantown American Legion Post 325, Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869, Kernal Nut Club, Germantown Community Development Club, and United Postmasters and Managers of America. Bob also volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 10 years, was an honorary member of the Germantown Fire Department, and devoted over 30 years to the Spassfest as chairman of the grounds crew and big six chairman.

     

    In his free time, Bob enjoyed playing cards, golfing, gardening, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and helping out at Robke’s Auto Body. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending their school and sporting events.

     

    Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 31, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. Thomas Lugge and Fr. James Buerster concelebrating. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.

     

    Visitation will be Friday, January 31, 2025, from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.

     

    In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to wishes of the family (checks payable to Barb Robke) and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, PO Box 117 Germantown, IL 62245, who is serving the family.
