    Robert H. Richter, age 96, of Breese, died Friday, November 17, 2017 at Breese Nursing Home.

     

    Mr. Richter was born October 19, 1921 in Breese, a son of the late William and Cecilia, nee Alberternst, Richter.

     

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Victor and Anton “Tony” Richter; sisters, Elizabeth Peters, Wilhelmina Eversgerd, Leona Richter, and twins Josephine and Alvina Richter in infancy; brothers-in-law, John Peters and Floyd Eversgerd; a sister-in-law, Martha Richter; and nephews, Paul Peters and Tom Gilmer.

     

    Surviving are nieces and nephews, Florence Peters of Centralia, Fran Gilmer of Belleville, Eileen Peters of New Baden, Jerome (Anita) Peters of Trenton, Richard (Sandy) Peters of Germantown, Norbert (Mary Jane) Peters of New Baden, Vernon (Theresa) Eversgerd of Highland, Julius (Michelle) Eversgerd of O’Fallon, and Marvin (Patti) Eversgerd of Breese; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

     

    Robert was a farmer and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese, Clinton County Farm Bureau, and was a 50-year member of the Catholic Knights and Ladies.

     

    Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, November 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Chuck Tuttle presiding. Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.

     

    Visitation will be Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese and again on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese.

     

    Memorials may be made to Mater Dei Catholic High School, All Saints Academy, or St. Augustine Catholic Church and will be received at the funeral home and church.
