    Ronald N. “Ron” Schubert, age 87, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.  He was born September 11, 1936, in Highland, a son of the late Reinhold and Verna Schubert.

     

    In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Jessie, nee Haas, Harms and brother-in-law, L.J. Harms.

     

    Ron is survived by his wife, Gloria, nee Harms, Schubert, of Trenton, whom he married February 15, 1964, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Lebanon; children, Angie (Patrick McVey) McVey and Nancy (Rich Henss, Jr.) Henss; grandchildren, Ryan (Kortney McVey) McVey, Brennan (Lisa Dickman) McVey, Megan Huelsmann, and Jack Henss; great-grandchildren, Vivian McVey and Samantha McVey; brother, William (Lois) Schubert; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Harms.

     

    Ron was a dedicated member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Lebanon, St. Paul Men’s Fellowship, St. Clair County Farm Bureau, St. Clair Service Company, Mon-Clair Service Company; a former member of the Lebanon Community Unit School District #9 School Board; and a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves.  A life-long grain farmer, Ron was an avid fan of International Harvester farm equipment, enjoyed restoring tractors, and loved his animals.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially attending his grandchildren’s activities.

     

    Funeral Service will be Friday, June 21, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

     

    Visitation will be Friday, June 21, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

     

    In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ in Lebanon or Alzheimer’s Association and will be received at the visitation or by mail via Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
