SMSgt George W. Georgie, USAF Ret., age 84, of Trenton, died Friday, May 18, 2018 at Trenton Village.
Mr. Georgie was born September 22, 1933 in Ironwood, MI, a son of the late Esther, nee Boretti, and George Georgie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Grady; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clyde and Mildred Coxey; and brothers-in-law, Clyde Coxey and Clare Coxey.
Surviving are his wife Marilyn, nee Coxey, Georgie of Trenton, whom he married November 20, 1956 in Duluth, MN; daughters, Joan (David) Ranz of Trenton, Susan (Rev. Don) Smith of Chattanooga, TN, and Sandy Georgie of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Tim (Jaime) Ranz, Chris Ranz, Erin (Keith) Lee, Meaghan Ranz, and Ian Smith; great-grandchildren, Ella, Sydney, and Sawyer Ranz, Gianna Lee, and was anticipating the birth of his fifth great-grandchild; siblings, MSgt Donald (Philippa) Georgie, USAF Ret., of England, Vikki (Mick) Davister of Green Bay, WI, and Linda (Don) Will of Green Bay, WI; and sisters-in-law, Caryl Coxey of Big Bear, CA, and Nelda Coxey of Bessemer, MI.
George retired from the USAF as a SMSgt after 22 years of service, he then worked 20 years of civil service at the VA Hospital in St. Louis and the Scott Air Force Base Medical Center. He enjoyed taking walks, watching TV and movies, browsing the internet, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with Rev. Don Smith officiating. Burial of the cremains with full military honors will follow in Trenton Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.
Memorials may be made to the VA St. Louis Fisher House, PO Box 998, Fenton 63026 and will also be received at the funeral home
