    Sondra “Sandy” Marie Newcomb, age 76, of Breese, and formerly of Carlyle, died Monday, May 14, 2018 at Countryside Manor in Aviston.

     

    She was born March 16, 1942 in Ashley, Illinois to the late Thomas “Shorty” Campbell and Laura Eileen (Sanders) Heffington. On August 29, 1958 she married Dale E. Newcomb in Ashley. They would have celebrated their 60th Anniversary on August 29, 2018.

     

    Sandy was the Clinton County Outreach Aide for BCMW Carlyle office until her retirement. She loved helping people and never turned anyone away. She had a heart of gold and loved spending time with her family and enjoyed making picture albums for all of her kids and grandkids.

     

    She is survived by 4 children, Vickie (Pete) Newcomb-Ardison of Mt. Vernon, Cindy (special friend Bob Moore) Brinkmann of St. Louis, Mo., Brenda (Mike) Endres of Breese, and Rick (Gwen) Newcomb of South Carolina; 5 grandchildren; Jason (fiancée Joni) Huels of Carlyle, Connor, Jenna, and Macey Endres of Breese, Ricky Newcomb, Jr. and Kelsey Newcomb of Highland; 2 great-grandchildren, Easton and Nora; sister, Terri (Jim) Simon of Grafton; sisters-in-laws, Maria Bates and Gerri Theiss; and also leaves behind her best friend, Diane Horn and good friends Chuck and Shirley Schlarman.

     

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Lacey Heffington; step-mother, Grace Campbell; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frances and Elmer Newcomb; a grandson, Ryan Brinkmann; brother, Kenneth Campbell; sister-in-law, Wendy Campbell; brothers-in-law, Larry Bates and Norman Theiss; and a nephew, Bruce Campbell.

     

    Funeral Service will be Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter and Deacon Linus Klostermann presiding. Interment will follow at Ellwood Cemetery in Breese.

     

    Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

     

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation and may be received at the funeral home.
