Thomas G. “Tom” Hull 58 of New Baden died Thursday March 5, 2015 at his residence.
He was born November 24, 1956 in Highland to Isabel (Kunz) Hull and the late Ralph Hull. His mother survives in New Baden.
Also preceded in death by a sister a Shelly Schomaker, brother-in-law Lee Mohme, father-in-law George Percivall.
He married Jessie Percivall January 19, 1979 at Union United Methodist Church in Belleville, and she survives in New Baden .
Also surviving are his children Sara (Joseph) Mudd of Belleville, Eric Hull of New Baden. 2 grandchildren Kade Hull, Wyatt Mudd. A sister Deanna (Fred) Lucas of Trenton. Mother-in-law Carolyn Percivall of Belleville, Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Rich Schomaker of New Baden, George (Nancy) Percivall of Crofton MD, Laura (Bill) Koehler of Belleville.
Tom owned and operated Hull Auction Service and Western Junction which he started with his son in 2007 in New Baden, He taught at New Athens High School.
Tom was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton. South Western Illinois Umpire Association. Lebanon Jaycee’s 9 years president and 1 year State Representative.
Tom started working at the age of 10 farming, he attended Summerfield grade school and Lebanon High School, Belleville Area College, SIU Edwardsville and McKendree and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Education. He raised cattle to pay for college, worked at Stumpf Farm Equipment in Trenton, Belleville Grain Elevator, County USDA filed and office worker, Federal Crop Insurance Adjustor, USDA Quality Coordinator for 5 counties, FCI Supervisor for 7 counties, Substitute teacher for Mascoutah, Science Chair for New Athens High School for 26 years, North Central internal & external reviewing County review for teachers certification. NCATE reviewer for 6 years. He was an umpire for 20 years, coached softball for 20 years including McKendree College varsity and New Athens High school for 6 years, He announced tractor, truck and draft horse pulls for 37 years, He also worked with St. Clair County 4H Livestock Committee for 25 years. His greatest joys were collecting old farm equipment and Oliver farm toys. Having time with his grandsons.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday March 10, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton with Rev. Mark Stryjak officiating. Interment Trenton Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday March 9 from 4 to 8 PM and Tuesday March 10 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton
