Tom G. Mills, age 49, of Millersburg, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL. He was born on October 2, 1975, in Richmond, IN, a beloved son of Kathy Mills (née Swayze) of Breese and the late John C. Mills.
Tom married Wendy Reeves on August 24, 2002, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Greenville. Wendy survives him in Millersburg, along with their children, Phillip Reeves (Camryn Kehrer) and Melanie Mills, both of Millersburg.
In addition to his wife and children, Tom is survived by his brother, John P. Mills (Mindy Neal) of Bovina, TX; father-in-law, Danny Reeves of Greenville; brothers-in-law, Bruce Reeves and Rick Reeves, both of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Mills, and his mother-in-law, Kathryn Reeves (née Rowley).
Tom was a hard-working and dedicated individual, employed as a concrete truck driver for Kienstra Ready Mix at the Collinsville plant. He previously worked for various oil field companies and served as a project manager for Environmental Consulting in Breese and Collinsville.
Tom was a member of St. Felicitas Catholic Church in Beaver Prairie, Teamsters Local 525, and the Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869. He was a proud graduate of Central Community High School, class of 1994, and a member of the 1993 Central Football playoff team.
Tom’s passions included waterfowl and deer hunting, fishing, barbecuing, cooking, and jeeping. He took great pride in attending his children’s sporting events and cherished every moment spent with family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Moss Funeral Home in Breese, with Fr. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow at St. Felicitas Cemetery in Beaver Prairie.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and again on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to the wishes of the family (checks payable to Wendy Mills) and will be received at the visitation or by mail to Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St., Breese, IL 62230.
