Verna L. Koppers, nee Ganz, age 102 of Trenton, born April 3, 1913in rural Trenton, a daughter of the late George and Theresa, nee Keim, Ganz, died Friday, March 4, 2016 at Aviston Countryside Manor.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Koppers whom she married April 18, 1929 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Trenton; a daughter, Janet Crabb; sons-in-law, Louis Koch and William Crabb; and a step-granddaughter, Sharon Haar.
Surviving is a daughter, Jean Koch of Trenton; 3 grandchildren, Harvey (Candy) Guenther of Trenton, Connie (Carl) Petersen of Harlan, IA, and Craig Crabb of Lake Ozark, MO; 1 step-grandchild, Dennis Koch of Highland; a step-grandson-in-law, Stan Haar of Highland; a great-grandchild, Marilka (David) Velez of Wauwatosa, WI; 2 step-great-grandchildren, Jason (Tracy) Hertz of Washington State and Matt Haar of Highland.
Mrs. Koppers was a homemaker and a former seamstress, and a member of St. Mary’s Church and Altar Sodality in Trenton.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Gene Neff officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Trenton.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Trenton.
Memorials may be made to the Trenton Fire Department or to the Trenton Police and will be received at the funeral home.
