Vincent J. “Vince” Mensing 77 of Breese died Tuesday May 8, 2012 at his home.
He was born September 12, 1934 in Breese to Bernard and Rose (Thuenemann) Mensing: they preceded him in death.
Also preceded in death by a granddaughter Michelle Mensing, brother Alvin Mensing, sister Alvina Becker, father-in-law Frank Thole, Brother-in-law Virgil Thole, sister-in-law Mary Ann Thole.
He married Rita Thole September 6, 1960 at St. Rose Church and she survives in Breese
Also surviving are his children Sharon Burgess of O’Fallon, Tom Mensing, Mike (Monica) Mensing, Bob (Marla) Mensing, Tim Mensing all of Breese.
8 grandchildren Kyle Burgess, Mallory, Shannon, Ryan, Nick, Madelyn, Melanie and Maggie Mensing.
A sister Rosemary (Richard) Woltering of St. Charles, MO.

Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bernita Mensing of Breese, Roman Becker of Bartelso, Marcel Thole, Norbert (Marilyn) Thole, Patricia (Myrt) Rollins all of St. Rose, Gary (Gina) Thole of Highland, Ruth (Jim) Holmes of Belleville, Ruth Thole of Breese.
Vince retired from Wickes Lumber Company as outdoor salesman. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending all their sports activities. He was an avid gardener and euchre player.
Member of St. Augustine Church and men’s sodality in Breese. Knights of Columbus Council 2869 in Breese.
Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday May 12 at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Interment St. Dominic St. Augustine Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday May 11 from 4 to 8 PM and Saturday May 12 from 8 to 9:45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
Memorials can be made to St. Augustine Church, All Saints Academy or Mater Dei High School and will be received at the funeral home.
