    Walter H. Duing 87 of Germantown died Monday February 18, 2013 at Breese Nursing home.

    He was born March 17, 1925 in Germantown to Frank and Josephine (Frerker) Duing: they preceded him in death.

    Also preceded in death by a brother George Duing, Sisters Mary Timmermann, Marcella Krebs, Alvina Hustedde, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ceil Duing, Al Timmermann, Ray Hustedde, Cornelius Henrichs, Agnes and Joe Holtmann, Joe Huelsmann, Marcella Varel, Alfred Korte, Lavern Laux, Irlene Varel

    He married Martha Varel May 14, 1960 at St. Cecilia Church, Bartelso and she survives in Germantown.

    Also surviving are his children Diane (Mark) Ginter of Ferdinand, IN, Jeff (MaryJo) Duing of Draper UT.

    8 grandchildren, Katie, Michelle, John, Matthew, Luke, Joel and Joshua Ginter, Jacob Duing.

    A sister Amanda Henrichs of Breese.

    Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Clarence Krebs of Carlyle, Clare Huelsmann of Bartelso, Leo Varel of Bartelso, Lucille Korte of St. Rose, Laura Laux of Breese, Edwin “Ep” Varel of Carlyle.

    Walter was a retired dairy farmer, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, square dancing, fishing and traveling.

    Member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown, Clinton County Farm Bureau, Mascoutah Silver Square – Square dancing Club.

    Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday February 21, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Germantown with Fr. James Buerster and Deacon Rich Bagby officiating. Interment St. Boniface Cemetery.

    Visitation will be Wednesday February 20 from 4 to 8 PM and Thursday February 21 from 8 to 9:45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.

    Memorials can be made to Mater Dei High School or St. Boniface Church and will be received at the funeral home.
