Martin L. “Marty” Gorman

Martin L “Marty” Gorman, age 71 of Breese, died Sunday, May 8, 2016 at his residence.

He was born June 11, 1944 in Litchfield, IL to Michael and Opal (Vollentine) Gorman: they preceded him in death.

Also preceded in death by a daughter Tara Gorman, bothers Paul and Robert Gorman, Father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Mary (Lyarla) Hapner, brothers-in-law Pat Ryan, Kevin Hapner, Don Wilson, sisters-in-law Mary Alice Gorman, Sue Wilson.

He married Tonya Hapner September 3, 1966 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro and she survives in Breese.

Also surviving are daughters Shelley Richter and Alicia (Todd) Timmermann all of Breese

5 grandchildren Brennan Richter, Braelyn Proksha, Dylan Knue, Tyler and Aubrey Timmermann.

Marty retired from Monterey Coal Company in Albers. Mary enjoyed being with his grandchildren attending all their sporting events as well as many other local sporting events. He worked hard at his family genealogy, his like camping, boating and gardening.

Member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese. Breese Lion Club current board member and past president, St. Joseph hospital Auxiliary, Exxon Mobile Annunitians Club.

Funeral mass of Christian burial will be Thursday may 12, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Dominic Catholic church in Breese. Fr Patrick Peter and Deacon Linus Klostermann officiating. Interment St. Martin Catholic Cemetery, Farmersville, IL

Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 11 from 4 to 8 Pm and Thursday May 12 from 8:00 to 9:45 am at the Moss Funeral home in Breese.

Members of the Breese Lions Club will do a walk through at 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to All Saints Academy or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the funeral home.

Martin W. Haselhorst 88 of Trenton died Thursday May 5, 2016 at Trenton Village.

He was born March 24, 1928 in St. Rose to Bernard “Ben” and Margaret (Lampe) Haselhorst. They preceded him in death.

Also preceded in death by brothers Greg, Al, Benedict, Steve, Karl Haselhorst, sisters Marie Zurliene, Augusta Litteken, Catherine Heap, Tillie Haselhorst, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Louise Haselhorst, Loretta Haselhorst, Ellen Haselhorst, Dorothy S. Haselhorst, Dorothy K. Haselhorst, Ruth Haselhorst, Al Zurliene, Ralph Litteken, Clarence “Bud” Heap.

He was married to Mary Anastasia Stallings for 65 years and they were married on October 19, 1950 at St. Mary Church, Trenton and she survives in Trenton.

Also surviving are his children Barbara Snider of Trenton, Ed (Cheryl) Haselhorst of Highland, Tina (Charles) Ripperda of Aviston, Dr. Kevin Haselhorst MD of Scottsdale, AZ, Marvin (Patricia) Haselhorst of St. Louis, MO, Terri (Jim) Hilmes of Highland, Bernie (Sue) Haselhorst of Swansea.

9 grandchildren Frank (Kristin) Snider IV, Dustin Snider, Anna Lisa (Frank) Mally, Ryan (Crystal) Haselhorst, Jared (Courtney) Haselhorst, Grace Haselhorst, Rose Haselhorst, Brenden Haselhorst, Rachel Haselhorst.

6 great grandchildren and anticipating the arrival of his 7th great grandchild Addison, Brooklyn, Frankie Snider, Sophia Mally, Mason and Maddox Haselhorst.

Martin was retired from Aircraft maintenance at Scout Air Force Base. An Army Veteran serving from 1951 to 1953. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and grandchildren and gardening.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic church and Men’s Holy Name Society in Trenton, Honorary life member of the 3rd degree Knights of Columbus Council #2932, lifetime member of the Trenton VFW Post 7983.

Funeral mass of Christian burial will be Saturday may 7, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton. Rev. Joseph Rascher and Msgr. Vincent Haselhorst concelebrating. Interment St. Mary Cemetery with full military honors.

Visitation will be Saturday may 7, from 8:30 am to 10:45 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton.

Knights of Columbus will hold 3rd degree services at 9:30 am and Trenton VFW service at 9:45 am at the church.

Memorials can be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, Mater Dei high School or Heartland Hospice and will be received at the visitation or through Moss Funeral home in Trenton.
