Gloria M. Neighbors

Gloria Neighbors, age 87 of Trenton, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland.

She was born October 2, 1928 in Tilden, IL to Hilton and Alice (Coke) Stone and they preceded her in death.

She married Bobby Neighbors on May 20, 1951 in Tilden, IL and he preceded her in death on May 3, 2008.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death a brother, Hilton Francis Stone and his wife Lillian; and brothers-in-law, Gary Neighbors and Edward Neighbors.

Gloria taught Home Economics and retired from Wesclin Grade School in Trenton, and previously taught at New Athens High School, Cahokia Jr. High School, O’Fallon Township High School. Gloria was a pastor’s wife in Trenton at First Baptist Church, and Woman’s Missionary Society and Church Choir in Trenton. She also was a homemaker and enjoyed making homemade bread, sewing, reading, Cardinal baseball and Wesclin High School Baseball.

She was a member of the Highland Community Church in Highland, Illinois Retired Teachers Association, and the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary in Breese.

She is survived by her sons, Dr. David Neighbors and wife Jan of Trenton, IL, and James and wife Terri of Burke, VA.

4 grandchildren, Matthew (Teal) Neighbors, Kelly (Nathan) Johnson, Beth Neighbors, and LeeAnne Neighbors.

A great-grandson, Elliot Johnson

A sister, Pauline Close of Caseyville, IL

Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Earl and wife Alicia Neighbors of St. Louis, MO, Joyce and husband Dwight Saffel of Plano, TX, and Pat Neighbors of St. Libory, IL

Funeral Services will be Monday April 11, 2016 at 10:00 am at Highland Community Church in Highland, Rev. Larry Wise officiating. Interment Trenton Cemetery. St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary will have an honor guard at her funeral service.

Visitation will be Sunday April 10, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton and Monday April 11, from 9:00 to 10:00 am at Highland Community Church in Highland.

Memorials can be made Trenton Library and will be received at the visitations.

Ann L. Lauer

Ann L. Lauer 95 of Trenton died Thursday March 24, 2016 at Country Side Manor in Aviston.

She was born February 15, 1921 in O’Fallon, to Jarva and Caroline (Hamm) French: they preceded her in death.

She married Charles “Sug” Lauer August 13, 1938 in St. Louis, MO and he preceded her in death December 10, 1989.

Also preceded in death by brothers Jarvis, Arzy, Lloyd French, sisters Florence Fischer, Hazel Helms, Mildred Foy, June Peterson, Catherine Crispi.

Surviving are daughters Doris (Richard) Harnist of Boca Raton, FL., Susan Bass of Houston, TX.

2 grandchildren Michael Mitchell and Cindee (John) Rood.

3 great grandchildren Charlie, Duke and Trent.

Ann was a homemaker and member of St. John United church of Christ in Trenton.

Funeral Service will be Friday March 25, 2016 at 10:00 am at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton, Heartland Hospice Chaplin Dan Simonton officiating. Interment College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon.

Visitation will be Friday March 25, from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the Moss Funeral home in Trenton.

Memorials can be made to St. John United Church of Christ Choir and will be received at the funeral home.

Don Langenhorst

Don Langenhorst 54 of Germantown died Thursday March 24, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville.

He was born December 7, 1961 in Belleville to Frank and Shirley (Worms) Langenhorst: they survive in Germantown.

He married Marla Toennies June 3, 1983 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown and she survives in Germantown.

Also surviving are his children Derek Langenhorst and Claire Langenhorst both of Germantown.

Don was the road commissioner for Germantown, Twp. He loved to hunt, working, and farming and just out to have fun.

Member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Germantown, Sons of the American Legion Post 325, Germantown, Quail Forever, Township officials for Illinois, Germantown Community Development, Committee for Spassfest Parade, Cornerstone Dice Team.

Funeral Service will be Saturday March 26, 1016 at 11:00 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Fr. James Buerster officiating. Interment St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday March 25 from 4 to 8 pm and Saturday march 26, from 9 to 10; 30 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown

Alvina C. Kruse, nee Hagen, age 99 of Breese, born May 11, 1916, a daughter of the late Henry and Rose, nee Holtgrave, Hagen, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Aviston Countryside Manor.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Ralph Kruse on July 3, 1982. Also preceded in death by her father-in-law Frank Kruse, mother-in-law Catherine Poelker and husband George Poelker, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Marcella and Marcellus Rolfingsmeier, Wilbert and Josephine Kruse, Dorothy and Frank Meyer, George and Rita Poelker, Alfred Poelker, Charles Schadegg and Esther Luebbers.

Surviving are her sons, Don Kruse of Breese and Larry (Barb) Kruse of Carlyle;
3 grandchildren, Amber (Ryan) Hempen, Jill (Chris) Burke, and Kyle Kruse;
5 great-grandchildren, Reese and Brock Hempen, Ava, Isabel, and Vivian Burke;
and sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Florence (Lavern) Ilges and Mary Schadegg of Breese.

Alvina was a homemaker, she loved time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, she also enjoyed knitting and cross stich.

Member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and Altar Sodality, Breese American Legion Post 252 Auxiliary, Breese Senior Citizens, and Honorary member of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter and Deacon Linus Klostermann officiating. Interment St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary will have an honor guard at the funeral mass.

Visitation will be Monday, March 28, 2016 from 8:00-9:45 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Memorials may be made to St. Dominic Church or St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary and will be received at the funeral home.

Breese legion Auxiliary members will hold services on Monday march 28, at 900 am at the funeral home.
