Aurilla May “Rill” Anthony

Aurilla May “Rill” Anthony, nee Counihan, 79, of Breese and formerly of Oneida, NY, died Friday, November 2, 2012 at Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab Center in Belle Plaine, IA.

Mrs. Anthony was born May 27, 1933 in Plattsburgh, NY to Francis Edward and Virgie Iola (Elliott) Counihan; they preceded her in death.

She married Richard F. “Dick” Anthony on August 6, 1955 in Oneida, NY and he survives in Breese.

Also surviving are her children, Gail (David) Reese of Henderson, NV, Richard (Eileen) Anthony, Jr. of Rome, GA, Karen (Timothy) Jennings of Kansas City, MO, Edward (Angela) Anthony of Robins, IA, and Patricia Hayes of Collinsville; 10 Grandchildren, Andrea Reese, Janeen (Albert) Yang, Jeremy (Katie) Anthony, Jacleen Anthony, Faith (Cameron) Trammell, Emily Jennings, Stephanie Anthony, Michael Anthony, Katie Anthony, and Zander Hayes; 2 Great-Grandchildren, Julia Anthony and Cayden Trammell; and a brother, Frank (Kathy) Counihan of Boonville, NY.

Rill formerly worked at Foppe Insurance and the Clinton County Reading Link.

She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, Breese, IL and Altar Sodality where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and on the Resurrection Choir.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in St. Francis Cemetery, Durhamville, NY.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese and again on Friday, November 9, 2012 from 9:15 to 10:00 am at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese.

Memorials can be made to Mercy Hospice, 315 18th Ave, Hiawatha, IA 52233 or to the Alzheimer’s Association and will be accepted at the funeral home and church.

Kennard E. “Ken” Hensley, SFC, US ARMY, Ret.

Kennard E. “Ken” Hensley, SFC, US ARMY, Ret., 72, of Trenton, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.

Mr. Hensley was born October 9, 1940 in Mills Springs, MO to Eugene and Myrtle (Agnew) Hensley; they preceded him in death.

Also preceded in death by a brother, John Hensley; and a sister, Margie Alcorn.

He married Donna Draper on July 13, 1963 in Sauget, IL; she survives in Trenton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Paul (Joy) Hensley of Elgin, SC, Wanda Haynes of Trenton, William (Mary) Hensley of Mascoutah, and Craig Hensley of Mascoutah; 10 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hensley retired after 20 years with the US ARMY with the rank of Sergeant First Class; he also worked in Civil Service and for Highland Supply.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Hensley was cremated and there will be no services.

Clinton L. Erwin

Clinton L. Erwin, 99, of Trenton, died Friday, October 19, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.

Mr. Erwin was born February 9, 1913 in Lebanon to Frank and Edna (May) Erwin; they preceded him in death.

He married Olitha Hohrein on July 25, 1936 in Collinsville; she preceded him in death on July 5, 1992.

Also preceded in death by a brother, Frank Erwin; sisters, Dorothy Strotheide, Ruth Paproth, and Grace Mank; and daughters-in-law, Betty Erwin and Shirley Erwin.

Surviving are his children, Richard Erwin of Trenton, Kenneth (Bev) Erwin of Trenton, Jerry Erwin of Virginia Beach, VA, Robert (Connie) Erwin of Vancouver, WA, Kathleen Hayes of Trenton, and Paul (Wanda) Erwin of Columbia; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Clinton retired from Scott Air Force Base as a pipefitter. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton, retired volunteer for the Trenton Fire Department after 36 years of service, Trenton Nut House Club, Trenton Sportsman’s Club, and a former Democratic Precinct Committeeman.

Graveside Services will be Monday, October 22, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Trenton Cemetery in Trenton with Deacon Rich Bagby officiating.

Memorials can be made to the Trenton Fire Department or to the donor’s choice and will be received through Moss Funeral Home in Trenton who is in charge of the arrangements.
