Clinton L. Erwin

Clinton L. Erwin, 99, of Trenton, died Friday, October 19, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.

Mr. Erwin was born February 9, 1913 in Lebanon to Frank and Edna (May) Erwin; they preceded him in death.

He married Olitha Hohrein on July 25, 1936 in Collinsville; she preceded him in death on July 5, 1992.

Also preceded in death by a brother, Frank Erwin; sisters, Dorothy Strotheide, Ruth Paproth, and Grace Mank; and daughters-in-law, Betty Erwin and Shirley Erwin.

Surviving are his children, Richard Erwin of Trenton, Kenneth (Bev) Erwin of Trenton, Jerry Erwin of Virginia Beach, VA, Robert (Connie) Erwin of Vancouver, WA, Kathleen Hayes of Trenton, and Paul (Wanda) Erwin of Columbia; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Clinton retired from Scott Air Force Base as a pipefitter. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton, retired volunteer for the Trenton Fire Department after 36 years of service, Trenton Nut House Club, Trenton Sportsman’s Club, and a former Democratic Precinct Committeeman.

Graveside Services will be Monday, October 22, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Trenton Cemetery in Trenton with Deacon Rich Bagby officiating.

Memorials can be made to the Trenton Fire Department or to the donor’s choice and will be received through Moss Funeral Home in Trenton who is in charge of the arrangements.

Mary A. Heffron

Mrs. Heffron was born December 6, 1931 in Breese to Henry and Pauline (Lager) Bolk; they preceded her in death.

She married Roger Heffron on October 4, 1950 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese; he preceded her in death on March 10, 2010.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Nelson; and a brother-in-law, Norbert Timmermann.

Surviving are her children, Marsha (George) Ward of San Diego, CA and Mark (Mary) Heffron of Trenton; a son-in-law, Rick Nelson of Breese; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Mack, Andrew, Stephanie, Joshua, and Zachary Heffron, and David Nelson; and a sister, Reinelda Timmermann of Breese.

Mary was the former owner of Mary’s Crafts and Gifts in Breese and was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.

Jane M. Koopmann

Jane M. Koopmann, nee Beckemeyer, 67, of Germantown, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at her daughter’s residence.

Mrs. Koopmann was born December 28, 1944 in Breese to Vincent and Clara (Van Dorn) Beckemeyer; they preceded her in death.

She married Ed Koopmann on July 10, 1970 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Beckemeyer; he survives in Germantown.

Also surviving is a daughter, Amy (John) Bruggemann of Germantown; 2 grandchildren, Cole and Ali Bruggemann; a brother, Dave (Mary) Beckemeyer of Beckemeyer; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Helen Gebke of Albers, Blanche Vandeloo of Bartelso, Al Koopmann of Breese, Roman “Butch” (Lorene) Koopmann of Belleville, and Andrew “Pete” (Janet) Koopmann of Belleville.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Thomas Koopmann, Cornelius Gebke, and George Vandeloo.

Jane retired as a teacher from Albers Elementary after 35 years and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown.

She enjoyed gardening, playing golf, watching football, but most of all spending time with her family.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 5, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. James Buerster and Deacon Rich Bagby officiating. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, Germantown.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 PM and again on Friday, October 5, 2012 from 8:00-9:45 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.

Memorials can be made to the Clinton County Relay for Life or to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
