Kenneth B. “Kenny” Richter

Kenneth B. “Kenny” Richter, 75, of Breese, died Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville.

Mr. Richter was born July 4, 1937 in Aviston to Emil and Bertha (Dieckmann) Richter; they preceded him in death.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Rick Richter.

He married Juanita Maxfield on June 18, 1960 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese; she survives in Breese.

Also surviving are his sisters, Theo (Dennis) Vronay of Fort Mill, SC and Suzanne (Jerry) Baker of Sacramento, CA; a brother, Warren “Shafty” (Rene) Richter of Lebanon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Kenny retired from the parts plant at General Motors in Hazelwood, MO and along with his wife was the current owner and operator of Turf Bar in Breese and he was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and Men’s Sodality in Breese, Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869, 4th Degree Bishop Althoff Assembly, past president of the Breese Lions Club , past president of the Breese Chamber of Commerce, past president of Mater Dei Fathers and Friends, Clinton County Tavern Association, charter member of the Breese Jaycees, and United Auto Workers of America.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating. Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.

Visitation will be Friday, December 21, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 pm and again on Saturday, December 22, 2012 from 8:30-9:45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Memorials can be made to the Rick Richter Mater Dei High School Scholarship Fund and will be received at the funeral home.

The Breese Lions Club will hold services at 6:30 pm, Breese Knights of Columbus and 4th Degree Bishop Althoff Assembly at 7:00 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.

Tim Jansen

Tim Jansen, 45, of Bartelso, died Sunday, December 2, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese.

Mr. Jansen was born February 3, 1967 in Breese to Marjorie “Margie” (nee Gebke) Jansen and the late Paul Jansen; his mother resides in Bartelso.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Bernadette (nee Varel) Kluemke; his dear uncle Fr. James Jansen and numerous aunts and uncles.

He married Brenda Kluemke on January 28, 1995 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso; she resides in Bartelso.

Also surviving are daughters, Mackenna and Jenna Jansen; his siblings Tony (Brenda) Jansen of Bartelso, Lynn (Louie) Loepker of Bartelso, Jeff (Sonja) Jansen of Damiansville, Joe (Sandy) Jansen of Bartelso, and Theresa (Jim) Ghormley of O’Fallon, MO; his father-in-law, Gerhard Kluemke of Bartelso; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Karen (Linus) Ripperda, Brian (Sam) Kluemke, Craig (Tanya) Kluemke, and Danny (Shelly) Kluemke all of Bartelso; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tim was the owner/operator of MacJennas Restaurant in Bartelso. He was an avid deer hunter and loved spending time with his family and friends on the river and at the clubhouse.

He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso, 15 year veteran of the Santa Fe Fire Protection District in Bartelso, Bartelso Knights of Columbus Council 4745, and the 7 Levee Club in Bartelso.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 11:30 AM at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso with Fr. Henry Fischer and Fr. James Buerster officiating. Interment will follow in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Bartelso.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 3:00-8:00 PM and again on Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 9:00-11:15 AM at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso.

Memorials can be made to his children’s education fund and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home in Germantown who is in charge of the arrangements.

Glennon A. “Glenn” Winter

Glennon A. “Glenn” Winter, 59, of Breese, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Winter was born April 18, 1953 in Breese to Arnold and Bernice (Kohrs) Winter; they preceded him in death.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Orville Litteken.

He married Kathy Litteken on September 13, 1975 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston; she survives in Breese.

Also surviving are his children, Brent Winter of Breese and Tracy (Jon) Pollmann of Frogtown; his siblings, Hal (Peg) Winter of Pocahontas, Barb (Mike) Wilton of Carlyle, Brenda (Carl) Woodrome of Centralia, and Karl (Lori) Winter of Centralia; his mother-in-law, Ann (nee Kniepmann) Litteken of Aviston; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul (Ruth) Litteken of Aviston, Allan (Carla) Litteken of Breese, and Dale (Judy) Litteken of Aviston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Glenn recently retired after 42 years with Schuette Super Valu Grocery Stores where he served as the Store Manager in Highland, Carlyle, and most recently in Breese. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese, Mater Dei Fathers and Friends, and a former member of the Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time at the clubhouse and traveling to the beach.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. George Mauck, Deacon Bob Lippert, and Deacon Charles Litteken officiating. Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.

Visitation will be Friday, November 30, 2012 from 4:00-9:00 PM and again on Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 8:00-9:30 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Lorraine E. Linnemann

Lorraine E. Linnemann, nee Kohrmann, 85, of Germantown, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.

Mrs. Linnemann was born June 8, 1927 in Germantown to Gertrude (Winter) and Joseph Kohrmann, Sr.; they preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Haar; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard Jansen, Raymond “Bucky” Boeckmann, Edward “Artie” Thoele, Cletus “Skeets” Holtmann, Diane Kohrmann, Lawrence “Smokey” and Agnes Linnemann, and Clarence “Blackie” and Florence Linnemann.

She married Alfred “Pete” Linnemann on November 23, 1949 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown; he survives in Germantown.

Also surviving are her children, Carol Ann (Sam) Gorman, Darlene “Lyn” (Danny) Haar, and Daniel (fiancée Marcia Wuebbels) Linnemann all of Germantown; 3 grandchildren, Carey (Matthew) Timmermann, Aaron and Ryan Linnemann; 2 great-grandchildren, Helana and Aisley Timmermann; her siblings, Florence Jansen of Germantown, Robert (Clara) Kohrmann of Albers, Mildred Boeckmann, Sally (Sep) Brueggemann, Jane Thoele, Roger Kohrmann, Marilyn (Virgil) Beckmann, Carolyn Holtmann, Joseph Kohrmann, Jr., and Joann (Jim) Haake all of Germantown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was the owner/operator of Lorraine’s Beauty Shop in Germantown from 1959-2004. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and quilting, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and Altar Sodality and the Germantown American Legion Post 325 Auxiliary.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, November 26, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. James Buerster and Deacon Rich Bagby officiating. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, Germantown.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 2:00-6:00 PM and again on Monday, November 26, 2012 from 8:00-9:30 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.

The Germantown American Legion Auxiliary will hold services at 5:00 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to St. Boniface Cemetery or to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
