Aloysius “Al” Rascher

Aloysius E. “Al” Rascher, 94, of Breese, died Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Countryside Manor in Aviston.

Mr. Rascher was born December 28, 1920 in Salisbury, MO to Joseph and Theresa (Spannon) Rascher; they preceded him in death.

He married Marcella Korte on November 26, 1953 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese; she preceded him in death on November 3, 2008.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by sisters, Sr. Mary Fulgence Rascher, CPPS, Sr. Bertille Rascher, CPPS, and Celestine Emmerich; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bertille Rascher, Harold Emmerich, Leo and Adelle Korte, Eugene and Edna Korte, and Alvin Korte.

Surviving are his children Rev. Joseph Rascher of Trenton and Mary (special friend Diane Holden) Rascher of Rantoul; and a brother Leo Rascher of New Jersey.

Al retired from assembly at General Motors and was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and Men’s Sodality, Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869, and the Breese Senior Citizens.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Joseph Rascher and Rev. Patrick Peter concelebrating. Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Memorials can be made to Mater Dei High School and All Saints Academy and will be received at the funeral home.

The Breese Knights of Columbus will recite the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Philip Theodore “Ted” Haller III 63 of Trenton died Saturday January 24, 2015 at his residence.

He was born July 23, 1951 in St. Louis, MO to Alice Fay (Imboden) Haller and the Late Philip T. Haller Jr.
His mother survives in St. Louis, MO.

He married Cathy Fritz December 13, 1974 in Englewood OH and she survives in Trenton

Also surviving is a son Ryan Hall of Trenton

Ted worked as a boiler and chiller at Cochran Veterans Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and working on cars and his pride possession MG Midget.

Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday January 28, 2015 at 4:00 PM at St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton, with Rev. Mark Stryjak officiating.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 4:00 PM at St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton.

Walter A. “Wally” Eilers

Walter A. “Wally” Eilers 76 of Breese died Wednesday January 21, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese.

He was born October 13, 1938 in St. Rose to Joseph and Bertha (Deimeke) Eilers: they preceded in death.

Also preceded in death by a brother Ralph Eilers, father-in-law Paul Leitsch, mother-in-law and step-father-in-law Leona and David Fulford.

He married Judy Leitsch December 27, 1958 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Carlyle and she survives in Breese.

Also surviving are his children Joseph (Barb) Eilers of Breese, Ed (Betsy) Eilers of St. Rose, Deb Eilers of Aviston, Donna (Karl) Zimmermann of Carlyle, Mary (Kevin) Cravens of Breese, Mike (Theresa) Eilers of Albers.

Wally was a stone mason and for 45 years and a past co-owner of Lager Monument in Breese.
He enjoyed spending his free time with his children grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese, 4th degree Bishop Althoff Assembly, Breese Knights of Columbus council 2869 and past grand knight, Concordia Saengerchor.

Funeral Mass of Christina burial will be Saturday January 24, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating Interment St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.

Visitation will be Friday January 23 from 4 to 8 PM and Saturday January 24 from 8 to 9; 30 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Breese Knights of Columbus will hold services on Friday at 7:15 followed by the Bishop Althoff 4th Degree services at 7:30 pm at the funeral home.

Bette Jo Bray (Nee Lewis) 65 of Trenton died Sunday January 18, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville.

She was born April 3, 1949 in Highland, IL to Cecil and Lucille (Alberternst) Lewis: they preceded her in death.

Also preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law Paul and Virginia Bray.

She married Harold “Butch” Bray April 27 1970 at St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton and he survives.

Also surviving are her children Kurt (Lisa) Bray, Lisa Rowold, Amy (friend Eric Stelfox) Bray all of Trenton.

Bette Jo had worked at the Western Clinton County Senior Services in Trenton as Dietician Manager and previously worked at Faith Countryside Homes in Highland as Dietician Manager. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening, flowers and an avid bird watcher.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton and the Trenton VFW Auxiliary

Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday January 21, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Joseph Rascher and Fr. Edward Schaefer officiating. Interment St. Mary Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday January 20, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday January 21, from 8:00 to 9:45 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

Dorothy F. Dewese

Dorothy F. Dewese, nee Doren, 87, of Carlyle, died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville.

Mrs. Dewese was born April 25, 1927 in Collinsville to John and Ida (Ukalavich) Doren; they preceded her in death.

She married Herman Rochell on June 4, 1949 in Collinsville; he preceded her in death on January 28, 1992. She then married Lewis Dewese on June 2, 1997 in Eureka Springs, AR and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2009.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by sisters, Ann Thorn and Louise Patrick; and a brother, Carl Doren.

Surviving is a sister, Gertrude “Trudy” Wilson of Wickenburg, AZ, nephews, nieces, and friends.

Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of the Living Stones Church of God in Carlyle.
