Nelson J. Haas

Nelson J. Haas, 90, of Trenton, died Monday, August 11, 2014 at Countryside Manor in Aviston.

Mr. Haas was born May 26, 1924 in Trenton, IL to William and Laura (Reinbold) Haas; they preceded him in death.

He married Sylvia Ketterer on April 18, 1950 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston; she preceded him in death on August 25, 2007.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Haas; sisters, Marie Hobbs and Irene Bray; and brothers-in-law, Clifford Bray and Robert Thole.

Surviving is a son, Dennis (Sheryl) Haas of South Amana, IA; a granddaughter, Stacy; a sister-in-law, Florence Thole of Aviston; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Nelson retired as the Manager of Trenton Co-op after 47 years and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Men’s Sodality, Trenton Senior Citizens, and Trenton Sportsman Club.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Joseph Rascher officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Trenton.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 pm and again on Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 8:00-9:45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

Memorials can be made to the Western Clinton County Senior Services or St. Mary Church and will be received at the funeral home.

Dorothy Tebbe

Dorothy J. Tebbe, nee Benhoff, 86, of Breese, died Friday, August 8, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Tebbe was born October 2, 1927 in Breese to Anthony and Veronica (Hoh) Benhoff; they preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Leonard Benhoff and Sylvester Benhoff; a sister, Marcella “Sally” Reiner; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marie Benhoff, Frank Reiner, Leona and Al Bruns.

She married Eugene Tebbe on October 2, 1951 and he survives in Breese.

Also surviving are her children, Eugene (Annette) Tebbe of Breese and Marilyn (friend Ben Hall) Tebbe of Mattoon; 4 grandchildren, Jeremy (fiancée Stacey Brammeier) Tebbe, Emily Tebbe, Jared (friend Brooke Kniepmann) Tebbe, and Valerie Tebbe; a brother, Anthony “Tony” (Aggie) Benhoff of Breese and Mary Ann (Don) Schmitz of Carlyle.

Dorothy was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, quilting, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and Altar Sodality.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. James Buerster and Deacon Rich Bagby officiating. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, Germantown.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 pm and again on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 9:00-10:45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.

Elizabeth A. “Betty” Deboise, nee Antons, 90, formerly of Trenton, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Rennes Health and Rehab Center in Appleton, WI.

Mrs. Deboise was born March 31, 1924 in Papen burgh, Germany to John and Marie (Lenger) Antons; they preceded her in death.

She married George Deboise on June 16, 1945 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Woodhaven, NY; he preceded her in death on July 29, 2008.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by sisters, Mary O’Grady and Helen Donnelly; and a son-in-law, Vern Schirmacher.

Surviving are her daughters, Kathi Schirmacher of Menasha, WI, Pat Waldrop of Menasha, WI and her children, Ryan and Logan; Teri Escobedo of Long Beach, CA and her children, Margaret and Jonathan; Judy Martin and husband Jim of Menasha, WI and their son and grandchildren, Jason (Alexis, Allison, and Ava); and Ginny Cassista of Trenton and her children and grandchildren, Darryl and wife Rachel (Christopher), Jennifer (Dakota), Stephanie, and Amanda (Brandi, and Branton); and a sister, Margaret Quelli of Hicksville, KY.

Betty was employed in Cosmetic Sales and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Trenton, IL.

A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Joseph Rascher officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Trenton, IL.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home, 105 S. Main St., Trenton, IL 62293 who is in charge of the arrangements.

Tom Trame

Tom L. Trame 69 of St. Rose died Thursday July 31, 2014 at St. Louis University Hospital.

He was born October 23, 1944 in Breese to Ben and Anne (Richter) Trame: they preceded him in death.

Also preceded in death by a brother Bernard Trame, brothers-in-law Edward Bergmann, Ralph Tonnies, sister-in-law Florence Tonnies.

He married Mary Ann Bergman November 25, 1969 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Bartelso and she survives in St. Rose.

Also surviving are sons Tim (Melissa) Trame of St. Rose, Alan (girlfriend Melissa Albert) Trame of St. Rose.

2 grandsons Taylor and Brett Trame.

Thomas A Davis, SMSgt USAF, Ret., died Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Mr. Davis was born April 16, 1942 in Omaha, NE and was raised by his adoptive parents, James and Geneva (Bryant) Davis; they preceded him in death.

Also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hadley Witherow; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arnold and Odelia (Sudholt) Trame; and a sister-in-law, Brenda Bonsall.

He married Sandra Trame on April 22, 1978 at Scott Air Force Base, IL and she survives in Trenton.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his children, Margaret Davis of Boulder, CO, Leah (Sean) Witherow of Colorado Springs, CO, Ashley (Jacob) Stokes of Nashville, TN, and Tyler Davis of Trenton;

5 grandchildren Quinn Davis, Hayes and Brier Witherow, Benjamin and Vivianne Stokes

a brother, James Davis of California;

step-sisters, Margee Menell of Los Angeles, CA, Sher Cross of Los Angeles, CA, and Teresa Roeder of Walnut Creek, CA;

Tom retired with the rank of SMSgt from the United States Air Force, was a retired over the road truck driver, and was an activity bus driver for the Wesclin School District. He was a member of the Trenton Nut House Club, Scott Air Force Base VFW Post 4183, and the Trenton Sportsman Club.

A Memorial Visitation will be Monday, July 28, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton. Memorial Prayers will be recited at 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Knights of Columbus will hold services Sunday at 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
