Cletus E. “Clete” Sensel 77 Summerfield died Monday June 9, 2014 at his residence.

He was born June 22, 1936 in Lebanon to Elmer and Vera (Kraus) Sensel; they preceded him in death.

He married Pearl Hencke October 3, 1953 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland and she preceded him in death June 11, 2003.

Also preceded in death by a brother-in-law Vernon Hencke

Surviving are his children Ron (Karen) Sensel of Fredericktown, MO, Sharon (Rick) Kloos of Trenton

Clete retired from being a sub contracted drvier for Anheuser Busch Company in St. Louis, and currently farming. He enjoyed auto racing, fishing, playing cards and traveling in his RV

Member of St. John United Church of Christ in Summerfield, Summerfield Lions Club, Former officer with Teamsters Local 600, and Machinist District 9 in St. Louis. He was the founder of Southwestern Auto Racing Association in Highland.

Funeral Services will be Friday June 13, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton. Rev. Gary Kniepkamp officiating. Interment Summerfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday June 12 from 4 to 8 PM and Friday from 9 am to time of service at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

Memorials can be made to Leaps of Love or the American Heart Association and will be received at the funeral home.

Grace Weier

Grace Weier, nee Deerhake, 82, of Germantown, died Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Legacy Place in Highland.

Mrs. Weier was born February 8, 1932 in Germantown to Henry and Mary Helen (Leonard) Deerhake; they preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Alice Grayling; brothers, Alfred Deerhake in childhood, Vincent Deerhake, and Conrad “Coonie” Deerhake; sisters-in-law, Maude Deerhake, Alice Weier, and Helen Weier in childhood; and brothers-in-law, Wilbert Weier and Fred Weier, Jr. both in childhood, Roy Grayling, Clarence Weier, Alfred Weier, and George Brauer.

She married Edwin Weier on September 22, 1955 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown; he survives at Legacy Place in Highland.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her children, Susan (Dale) Peters of Trenton, Linda (Jim) Woosley of Flower Mound, TX, Steven (Jean) Weier of Belleville, Donald (Kathleen) Weier of Muskego, WI, and Michael (Maureen) Weier of Greenwood, IN; 20 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dodie Deerhake of Beckemeyer, Margaret (Joe) Rademacher of O’Fallon, Dolores Brauer of Germantown, and Marie (Hank) Wesselmann of Germantown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Grace retired from productions at Southern Farms Country Eggs in Germantown and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality, and the Germantown American Legion Post 325 Auxiliary. She enjoyed riding her bike, walking, quilting, and traveling.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 9, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. James Buerster and Deacon Rich Bagby officiating. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, Germantown.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 2:00-5:00 pm and again on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 8:00-9:30 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.

Henrietta E. “Etta” Jansen, nee Koopmann, 95, of Bartelso, died Monday, June 2, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Jansen was born September 29, 1918 in Bartelso to John and Anna (Kolp) Koopmann; they preceded her in death.

She married Leo Jansen on October 18, 1947 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Chicago; he preceded her in death on November 22, 1998.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, John Stablein; sisters, Cecilia Hoh, Martha Kahrhoff, Pauline “Pap” VanOpen, Catherine Dumstorff, and Eleanor Blomquist; brothers, Leo Koopmann in infancy and Joseph Koopmann; and brothers-in-law, Harry Hoh, Paul Kahrhoff, George VanOpen, Bill Dumstorff, and John Blomquist.

Surviving are daughters, Cindy Jansen of Bartelso, Dian Stablein of Valrico, FL, Stephanie Jansen of St. Louis, and Sheila (James) Fuchs of St. Louis; 5 grandchildren, David (Karen) Stablein, Kara (Ryan) Trasko, Dan, Molly, and Marcy Fuchs; and 1 great-granddaughter, Sophie Trasko.

Etta was a homemaker and a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality in Bartelso, Clinton County Farm Bureau, and Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting, bingo, playing cards, going to the casino, gardening, and her many cats.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso with Fr. James Buerster officiating. Interment will follow in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Bartelso.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 pm and again on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 9:00-10:30 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.

Sandra R. “Sandy” Mullins, 68, of Trenton, died Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Highland Healthcare Center, Highland, IL.

Mrs. Mullins was born November 10, 1946 in Highland, IL to Harvey and Bessie (Cronin) Mann; they preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shannon Fleming.

She married Kenneth Mullins on February 22, 1991 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Trenton; he survives in Trenton.

Also surviving are her children, Tammy (Michael) Lewis of Fort Collins, CO, Donald C. (Carolyn) Fleming of Trenton, and Mindy Toennies of Damiansville; and 9 grandchildren, Taylor and Jason Lewis, Audrianna Pennington, Charles Weekley, Erin, Jenna, and Kelsey Fleming, Josh and Brittany Toennies.

Sandy retired as an accountant with the Department of Agriculture and was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Trenton.

Graveside Services will be Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 11:00 am at Trenton Cemetery, Trenton, IL.

Wyatt Allen Guthrie, infant son of Cassandra Schroeder and Rodney Guthrie of Danville, born April 14, 2014 in Danville, IL, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Shanon (nee Heimbecker) Schroeder of Mascoutah and Kevin Schroeder of Germantown; paternal grandfather, Scott Guthrie of Danville; aunt, Haley Schroeder of Germantown; uncle, Drew Guthrie of Jacksonville, NC; maternal great-grandparents, Sandra Heimbecker of Beckemeyer, William Heimbecker of Germantown, and Ronald Schroeder of Germantown; paternal great-grandparents, Jerry and Sue Guthrie of Danville; maternal great-great-grandmothers, Rita Heimbecker of Waunakee, WI and Dorothy Schroeder of Germantown; and many loving great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins.

Wyatt was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Elaine Schroeder and paternal great-grandmother, Ramona Strawser.

Kelly R. Arentsen, nee Trame, age 44 of Damiansville, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at her parent’s home in Trenton.

She was born June 28, 1969 in Belleville to Eugene “Slim” and Theresa “Tess” (Richter) Trame; they survive in Trenton.

Kelly married Gary Arentsen on October 26, 1996 at St. Damian’s Catholic Church in Damiansville; he survives in Damiansville.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is also survived by her children Abby and Cole Arentsen; a sister and brother, Cassie (Gary “Pook”) Pollmann of Trenton and Curt (Stacey) Trame of Maybee, MI; her mother-in-law, Florence (nee Tonnies) Arentsen of Damiansville; brothers-in-law, Marvin (Sue) Arentsen of , Mary (Mike) Wagnitz of Chesterfield, MO, Jane (Mike) Strieker of Breese, Bob (Karen) Arentsen of Downers Grove, Karen (Matt) Ratermann of Aviston, Judy (Nick) Husmann of Breese, Jerry (Anita) Arentsen of Damiansville, Diane (Duane) Ripperda, Steve (Tina) Arentsen, John (Jennifer) Arentsen, Nancy (Brian) Mattson, and Donna (Al) Brauer, all of Germantown, and Ron (Leigh Ann) Arentsen, Gary (Kelly) Arentsen, and Kevin (Sheri) Arentsen, all of Damiansville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Damian Catholic Church in Damiansville with Fr. Jack Joyce and Deacon Glenn Netemeyer officiating. Interment will follow in St. Damian Cemetery, Damiansville.

Visitation will be Friday, May 23, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 pm and again on Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 8:00-9:00 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to her children’s education fund or to Clinton County Relay for Life and will be received at the funeral home.

The Trenton VFW will do a walk through at 7:30 Friday evening at the funeral home.
