Richard L. “Dick” Sellers

Richard L. “Dick” Sellers, 70, of Breese, died Friday, March 14, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Sellers was born August 14, 1943 in Breese to Ralph and Dorothy (Merians) Sellers; they preceded him in death.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, Brenden Richard Sellers; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Margaret (Almasy) Lappe.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann (nee Lappe) whom he married April 17, 1970 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese; sons, Chad (Denise) Sellers and Casey (Jessica) Sellers, all of Breese; 5 grandchildren, Cole and Blake Sellers, and Caitlyn, Logan, and Allyson Sellers; legal guardian of and raised, Terry Lappe of Breese and Maribeth (William) Bolk of Bridgeton, MO; special nephews, Christopher, Kyle, and Connor Bolk; a brother, Ron (Mary) Sellers of Breese; a sister, Donna (Ken) Eversgerd of Breese; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from SIU-Edwardsville, and later retired as the Regional Manager of Unemployment Insurances for the State of Illinois. In 1984, he founded Equity 55, LLC in Breese and was a Real Estate Developer.

He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and Consistory in Breese, National Association of Realtors, Realtors Association of Southwestern Illinois, and was the founding member of the National Center on Home Equity Conversion (Reverse Mortgages).

Dick enjoyed racing, antique cars, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Breese with Rev. Matthew Goetz and Deacon Bob Lippert officiating. Interment will be private.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 2:00-5:45 p.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Breese.

Memorials can be made to PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) Research and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home in Breese who is in charge of arrangements.

Chester C. Anderson

Chester C. Anderson, 60, of the Oak View Home in Trenton, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.

He was born November 21, 1953 in Cottage Hills, IL to the late Chester and Zella (Vandover) Anderson and is the twin brother of Lester Anderson.

Chester worked in assembly at Community Link in Breese.

Mr. Anderson was cremated and there will be no services.

Paul B. “Peanuts” Hilmes

Paul B. “Peanuts” Hilmes, 80, of Breese, died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Breese Nursing Home.

Mr. Hilmes was born October 8, 1933 in Germantown to Ben and Frances (Theising) Hilmes; they preceded him in death.

He married Agnes “Aggie” Deiters on February 13, 1956 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese; she preceded him in death on May 6, 2012.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by sons, Jeff Hilmes and Gary Hilmes; a daughter, Pam Pitt; and sisters, Johanna “Micky” Kampwerth and Dolores “Mutz” Grady.

Surviving are his children, Deb (Cletus) Ratermann of Breese, Charlie (Carla) Hilmes of Breese, Diane (Alfred) Holtgrave of St. Rose, Mike “Red” (Chris) Hilmes of Breese, and Kevin (Vanessa) Hilmes of Breese; a son-in-law, Mike Pitt of Breese; a daughter-in-law, Shelly (friend Jason Holthaus) Hilmes of Aviston; 13 grandchildren, Greg (Teresa) Ratermann, Scott (Mary) Ratermann, Eric Ratermann, Cierra Hilmes, Tammy (DJ) Grindstaff, Lara (friend Josh) Holtgrave, Brad (friend Melanie) Holtgrave, Kristen Hilmes, Matthew Hilmes, Bailey Hilmes, Garrett Hilmes, Justin Hilmes, and Tyler Hilmes; 3 great-grandchildren, Alex and Jonah Brown, and Emma Ratermann; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edward (Jeanie) Deiters of Carlyle, Catherine Schrage of Highland, Mary Deiters of St. Rose, and Mary Beth (Dwight) Schubert of Beckemeyer.

Peanuts retired as a dockhand from Southern Farms Egg Plant in Germantown and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Chuck Tuttle and Deacon Bob Lippert officiating. Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 8:00-9:45 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese.

Dennis H. Tebbe

Dennis H. Tebbe, 58, of Waxahachie, TX and formerly of St. Rose, died Thursday, February 27, 2014 in Waxahachie, TX.

He was born September 25, 1955 in Highland, IL to Gladys (Knebel) Tebbe and the late Walter Tebbe; his mother survives in St. Rose.

He was preceded in death by his father; a nephew, Jeremy Tebbe; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Priscilla (Thole) Voss; and brothers-in-law, Kevin Alberternst, Al Voss, and Leonard Alwardt.

He married Norma Voss on November 23, 1979 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese and she survives in Waxahachie, TX.

Also surviving are his children, Ryan (Kelly) Tebbe of Bardwell, TX and Jessica (Daniel) Price of Waxahachie, TX; brothers and sisters, Jim Tebbe, Joe (Jan) Tebbe, Rich (Chrysa) Tebbe, Kathy (Ken) Jansen, Carolyn Alberternst, and Joan (Doug) Willis all of St. Rose; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Joseph (Dorothy) Voss of Breese, Margaret (Carl) Jakel of Breese, Ralph (Elaine) Voss of St. Rose, Jim (Peggy) Voss of Bethpage, TN, and Paul (friend Judy) Voss of Breese.

Dennis was a Correctional Officer with the Ellis County Sherriff Department in Texas and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knight of Columbus in Waxahachie, TX.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM at St. Rose Catholic Church with Fr. Edward Schaefer officiating. Interment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Erma Eversgerd-Gallatin, nee Renschen, 88, of Germantown, died Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Countryside Manor in Aviston.

She was born May 29, 1925 in Albers to August and Mary (Haar) Renschen: they preceded her in death.

She married Christopher Eversgerd June 4, 1945 in St. Louis, MO and he preceded her in death August 11, 1979. She then married Francis Gallatin March 1, 1993 and he preceded her in death March 1, 2008.

Michael S. “Mike” Gausepohl 50 of Sorento died Tuesday February 11, 2014 at St. John Hospital in Springfield.

He was born December 10, 1954 in Breese to Emil Gausepohl and Maxine (Burris) Gausepohl-Troxell: they preceded him in death.

Also preceded in death by a sister Rosemary Kempfer.

He married Mary Shipp June 3, 1981 in Belleville and she survives in Sorento.
