Glennon A. “Glenn” Winter

Glennon A. “Glenn” Winter, 59, of Breese, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Winter was born April 18, 1953 in Breese to Arnold and Bernice (Kohrs) Winter; they preceded him in death.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Orville Litteken.

He married Kathy Litteken on September 13, 1975 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston; she survives in Breese.

Also surviving are his children, Brent Winter of Breese and Tracy (Jon) Pollmann of Frogtown; his siblings, Hal (Peg) Winter of Pocahontas, Barb (Mike) Wilton of Carlyle, Brenda (Carl) Woodrome of Centralia, and Karl (Lori) Winter of Centralia; his mother-in-law, Ann (nee Kniepmann) Litteken of Aviston; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul (Ruth) Litteken of Aviston, Allan (Carla) Litteken of Breese, and Dale (Judy) Litteken of Aviston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Glenn recently retired after 42 years with Schuette Super Valu Grocery Stores where he served as the Store Manager in Highland, Carlyle, and most recently in Breese. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese, Mater Dei Fathers and Friends, and a former member of the Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time at the clubhouse and traveling to the beach.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. George Mauck, Deacon Bob Lippert, and Deacon Charles Litteken officiating. Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.

Visitation will be Friday, November 30, 2012 from 4:00-9:00 PM and again on Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 8:00-9:30 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Memorials can be made to TIP Hospice or Mater Dei High School and will be received at the funeral home.

Mr. Kohrmann was born April 14, 1941 in Bartelso to Louis and Regina (Trame) Kohrmann; they preceded him in death.

Also preceded in death by a son, Brent Kohrmann; a brother, Louis Kohrmann; a sister, Elaine Tibbs; brothers-in-law, Wally Crown and Allen Stanford; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Kohrmann.

Surviving are his children, Kelly Kohrmann of Troy, John (Aileen) Kohrmann of Murrieta, CA, Rebecca Jones of St. Charles, MO, and Daniel (Robin) Kohrmann of Seattle, WA; 6 grandchildren, Alicia (Dan) Hoffmann, Nicole Kohrmann, Vivian and Scarlet Jones, Hannah and Lilly Kohrmann; a brother, Jerry Kohrmann of Godfrey; a sister, Marilyn Stanford of Flora; a brother-in-law, Marvin Tibbs of Flora; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Kohrmann of Lebanon; and his former wife, Helen (Taphorn) Kohrmann of Carlyle.

Tom retired as a carpenter from the Carpenters Union Local 480 in Freeburg and he was a Veteran of the United States Army.

He was a former member of St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso, Retired Volunteer and First Responder for the Santa Fe Fire Protection District in Bartelso, Bartelso Knights of Columbus Council 4745, Past Commander of the Bartelso American Legion Post 976, Catholic War Veterans, and the Clinton County Farm Bureau.

Ferdinand L. “Ferd” Zurliene, 81, of Trenton, died Saturday, November 24, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.

Mr. Zurliene was born May 17, 1931 in Aviston to Joseph and Theresa (Ottensmeier) Zurliene; they preceded him in death.

He married Alice J. Schrage on February 20, 1957 at St. Rose Catholic Church; she preceded him in death on April 15, 2003.

Also preceded in death by a son, Armin Zurliene; sisters and brothers, Louise Haselhorst, Theodore Zurliene, Loretta Stimson, Otto Zurliene, Josephine Potthast, Charles Zurliene, Joseph Zurliene, Frederic Zurliene (infancy), and Lavina Zurliene (infancy); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gregory Haselhorst, Irene Zurliene, Claude Stimson, Florence Zurliene, Norbert Potthast, Charles Schrage, and James Billhartz.

Surviving are his children, Lynn (Michael) Tebbe of Highland, Karen (Gary) Rieger of Trenton, and Keith (Rita) Zurliene of Trenton; 7 grandchildren, Kytel and Karl Horn, Rachel, Gretchen, and Trent Rieger, Brandon and Mitchel Zurliene; and sisters-in-law, Margie Zurliene of Pierron, Mary Zurliene of Highland, Dorothy Schrage of Aviston, and Rita Billhartz of Belleville.

Ferd retired as a cook at the Hospital at Scott Air Force Base.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Holy Name and was a Lifetime Member of the Trenton VFW Post 7983.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Joseph Rascher officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Trenton.

Visitation will be Monday, November 26, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 PM and again on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 8:00-9:30 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

The Trenton VFW Post 7983 will hold services at 7:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to the Western Clinton County Senior Services in Trenton and will be received at the funeral home.
