Walter A. “Wally” Eilers 76 of Breese died Wednesday January 21, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese.

He was born October 13, 1938 in St. Rose to Joseph and Bertha (Deimeke) Eilers: they preceded in death.

Also preceded in death by a brother Ralph Eilers, father-in-law Paul Leitsch, mother-in-law and step-father-in-law Leona and David Fulford.

He married Judy Leitsch December 27, 1958 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Carlyle and she survives in Breese.

Also surviving are his children Joseph (Barb) Eilers of Breese, Ed (Betsy) Eilers of St. Rose, Deb Eilers of Aviston, Donna (Karl) Zimmermann of Carlyle, Mary (Kevin) Cravens of Breese, Mike (Theresa) Eilers of Albers.

Wally was a stone mason and for 45 years and a past co-owner of Lager Monument in Breese.
He enjoyed spending his free time with his children grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese, 4th degree Bishop Althoff Assembly, Breese Knights of Columbus council 2869 and past grand knight, Concordia Saengerchor.

Funeral Mass of Christina burial will be Saturday January 24, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating Interment St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.

Visitation will be Friday January 23 from 4 to 8 PM and Saturday January 24 from 8 to 9; 30 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Breese Knights of Columbus will hold services on Friday at 7:15 followed by the Bishop Althoff 4th Degree services at 7:30 pm at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to St. Joseph Hospital Lights for Scholarships or Clinton County Humane Society and will be received at the funeral home.

Bette Jo Bray (Nee Lewis) 65 of Trenton died Sunday January 18, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville.

She was born April 3, 1949 in Highland, IL to Cecil and Lucille (Alberternst) Lewis: they preceded her in death.

Also preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law Paul and Virginia Bray.

She married Harold “Butch” Bray April 27 1970 at St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton and he survives.

Also surviving are her children Kurt (Lisa) Bray, Lisa Rowold, Amy (friend Eric Stelfox) Bray all of Trenton.

Bette Jo had worked at the Western Clinton County Senior Services in Trenton as Dietician Manager and previously worked at Faith Countryside Homes in Highland as Dietician Manager. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening, flowers and an avid bird watcher.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton and the Trenton VFW Auxiliary

Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday January 21, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Joseph Rascher and Fr. Edward Schaefer officiating. Interment St. Mary Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday January 20, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday January 21, from 8:00 to 9:45 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

Memorials can be made to Trenton Park Boosters or the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.

Trenton VFW Auxiliary will hold services Tuesday at 7:30 PM at the funeral home.

Dorothy F. Dewese, nee Doren, 87, of Carlyle, died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville.

Mrs. Dewese was born April 25, 1927 in Collinsville to John and Ida (Ukalavich) Doren; they preceded her in death.

She married Herman Rochell on June 4, 1949 in Collinsville; he preceded her in death on January 28, 1992. She then married Lewis Dewese on June 2, 1997 in Eureka Springs, AR and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2009.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by sisters, Ann Thorn and Louise Patrick; and a brother, Carl Doren.

Surviving is a sister, Gertrude “Trudy” Wilson of Wickenburg, AZ, nephews, nieces, and friends.

Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of the Living Stones Church of God in Carlyle.

: Florence G. Jansen, nee Kohrmann, 88, of Germantown, died Friday, January 16, 2015 at Breese Nursing Home.

Mrs. Jansen was born March 16, 1926 in Breese, IL to Joseph and Gertrude (Winter) Kohrmann; they preceded her in death.

She married Richard B. Jansen on June 13, 1950 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown; he preceded her in death on November 25, 1995.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Lorraine Linnemann and Marilyn Beckmann; a sister-in-law, Diane Kohrmann; brothers-in-law, Raymond “Bucky” Boeckmann, Edward “Artie” Thoele, and Cletus “Skeets” Holtmann; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sr. Dolores Marie Jansen, MM, Marcella “Sally” and Toby Nagel, Mary Ann Jansen, Gerald “Jerry” and Margaret Jansen, Helen and John Henken, Thomas Jansen, Dorothy and Ken Perry, Fr. James Jansen, Anthony Jansen, and Paul Jansen.

Surviving are her siblings, Robert (Clara) Kohrmann of Albers, Mildred Boeckmann, Mary Jane Thoele, Marcella “Sally” (Sep) Brueggemann, Roger Kohrmann, Carolyn Holtmann, Joseph Kohrmann, Jr., and JoAnn (Jim) Haake all of Germantown; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alfred “Pete” Linnemann of Germantown and Virgil Beckmann of Germantown, Lorinda Jansen of Germantown, Marjorie Jansen of Bartelso, and Mary Ann Jansen of Freeburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Florence retired after 42 years from the sewing department at Wee Walker Shoe Co. in Carlyle and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and Altar Sodality. She enjoyed quilting, playing bingo, and spending time with family.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. Dennis Voss and Deacon Rich Bagby officiating. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, Germantown.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 18, 2015 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and again on Monday, January 19, 2015 from 8:00-9:45 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.

Memorials can be made to the Celtic Hospice, Breese Nursing Home Activity Fund, or to the Donor’s Choice and will be received at the funeral home.

Michael O. Hamilton, 65, of New Baden, died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.

Mr. Hamilton was born November 20, 1949 in Washington, PA to Stanley and Rebekah (Ames) Hamilton; they preceded him in death.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, Nathan Lintzenich; a brother, Stephen Hamilton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ben C. and Eleanor (Schmidt) Harpstrite; and a brother-in-law, James Harpstrite.

He married Janice Harpstrite-Zeller on December 4, 1993 at First United Methodist Church in Trenton; she survives in New Baden.

Also surviving are his daughters, Ashley Hamilton of Denver, CO and Dawn Lintzenich of Breese, IL; 3 grandchildren, Aidan Hamilton, Mikaela and Caleb Lintzenich; siblings, Tim (Vicki) Hamilton of Virginia and Rebekah (Norma Jackson) Hamilton of Texas; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barbara Hamilton of New Orleans, LA, Karen (Mike) Riley, Cheryl (Rick) Parkin, and Janine (Ed) Wuebbles all of New Baden; an uncle, Howard (Jackie Rickert) Harpstrite of Trenton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1974-1981. He then worked as a Contract Specialist, retiring from the Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization at Scott Air Force Base, IL and worked as an election judge in Clinton County. He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and especially hiking in the mountains. Mike also enjoyed history and researching the Civil War.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Trenton with Pastor Mike Rucker officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in Trenton Cemetery, Trenton, IL.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Trenton.

Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Trenton or to the wishes of the family and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home, 105 S. Main, Trenton, IL 62293 who is in charge of the arrangements.

Martha E. Timmermann, 88, of Breese, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.

Ms. Timmermann was born April 27, 1926 in Breese, the daughter of Gerhard and Josephine (Lager) Timmermann.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, August J. Timmermann and Joseph B. Timmermann; a sister, Mary Mioux; a brother-in-law, Joseph Mioux; a sister-in-law, Ann Timmermann; and nephews, Joseph Timmermann and Peter Timmermann.

She is survived by a brother, Anthony (Marcella) Timmermann and a sister, Josephine “Josie” Timmermann all of Breese; nephews and nieces, David (Joann) Timmermann, Gerard (Darlene) Timmermann, Andrew (Sandy) Timmermann, Anne (James) Nabors, Russell (Sharon) Timmermann, Jerome Timmermann, Mark (Jill) Timmermann, Kathryn (Timothy) Droege, Jean (Gary) Tebbe, Diane (Ken) Thole, Karen (Jerry) Huelsmann, Joseph (Ann) Mioux, Mary (Richard) Berry, and Martha Mioux; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Martha was a lifelong homemaker. She loved to bake, cook, sew, and quilt. Martha spent much of her time helping her nieces and nephews. She was active in St. Dominic Catholic Church and volunteered with the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Dominic Altar Sodality and the Daughters of Isabella Precious Blood Circle 718.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating. Private Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.

Visitation will be Friday, January 9, 2015 from 9:00-10:45 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese.
