Bernice C. “Bim” Kniepmann86 of Germantown died Saturday March 11, 2017 at Countryside Manor in Aviston.

She was born November 20, 1930 to Joseph and Elizabeth (Nordhaus) Thoele, they preceded her in death.

She married Cornelius “Corney” Kniepmann October 9, 1951 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Germantown and he preceded her in death June 21, 2008.

Also, preceded in death by brothers Alvin and wife Mary Ann Thoele, Walter and his wife Ella Mae Thoele, Edward “Artie” Thoele, a sister Olivia Thoele.

Surviving are her children Judith (Duane) Kampwerth of Germantown, Janet (William) Scoggins of Tallahassee, FL, Gerald (Joyce) Kniepmann of Germantown, John Kniepmann of Highland.

12 grandchildren Greg (Julie) Kampwerth, Beth (Mark) Tlapek, Jennifer (Casey) Doran, Jeff (Rijeana) Kampwerth, Lisa (Josh) Litteken, Brent (Katie) Scoggins, Kyle (Brittney) Kniepmann, Katie (fiend Tyler Voss) Kniepmann, Amber (Jim) Stiebel, Kysa (Nate) Richter, Paige (friend Clayton Gonsalves) Kniepmann.

Visitation will be Monday March 13, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, March 14 from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home, Germantown.

Mary Ann Haar 76 of Breese died Monday January 2, 2016 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

She was born December 23, 1940 in Breese to Joseph and Shirley (Uhlinger) Husmann; the preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by a sister Barbara Schulte, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Esther and Carl Shoreack, Bernice and Jack Corbett, Jean and Bill Bauer, Doris Kloeckner, Walter Arentsen, Orville Daubach, nephew Chad Schulte.

She married Frank Haar May 16, 1964 at St. Stephen’s Catholic church in Caseyville and he survives in Breese.

Mary Ann had worked at Hellige’s Super Market in Breese from 1984 to 2010 and was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and attending all their activities. Playing cards, and her cats. She especially enjoyed the Christmas Holidays and Black Friday Shopping.

She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Altar Sodality in Breese.

Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday January 5, 2016 at 11;00 a.m. St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese. Fr. Chuck Tuttle presiding. Interment St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery.

He married Krisi Foppe August 29, 1987 at St. Dominic Church in Breese and she survives in Breese.

He was born June 12, 1945 in Germantown to Matthias and Dorothy nee Albers, Haukap; they preceded him in death.

He married Rosalia “Rosie” Albers February 15, 1950 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Germantown. She preceded him in death November 18, 2012.

He started Joe Kohrmann Masonry (now Kohrmann Brothers masonry) in 1974, and S&K construction in Bartelso. He previously worked as a laborer at IMS Mill in Mascoutah, Pennsylvania railroad, River Construction, Granite City Steel, and Ray Schaefer

He was given the name “Fireball” for his zest in life. He loved Cardinal baseball, as much as Clinton County Baseball, he never missed an opportunity to show his hand in a game’s of pinochle, euchre or poker: and enjoyed hunting, fishing, game of bank pool. He always seemed to find an abundance of vegetables from gardens throughout the county and never left a crown without asking “did you hear the one about…” followed by a really good joke!

Marty retired from Monterey Coal Company in Albers. Mary enjoyed being with his grandchildren attending all their sporting events as well as many other local sporting events. He worked hard at his family genealogy, his like camping, boating and gardening.
