Margaret M. Parent, nee Voss, age 62 of Swansea, born August 20, 1952 in Breese, a daughter of the late Robert and Pauline, nee Venhaus, Voss, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.
Mrs. Parent was the Branch Manager at First National Bank in Waterloo and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fairview Heights. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Amy Mooney and husband Chad and Ryan Parent and wife Mindy all of Swansea; 5 grandchildren, Cole, Brock, and Madeline Mooney, Jackson and Cameron Parent; her siblings, Jim Voss and wife Betty of Highland and Marilyn Sudholt and husband Bob of Aviston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Leon Parent, whom she married September 23, 1972 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston, and he died November 28, 2002; and her brother, Donald Voss.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Fr. Daniel Friedman officiating. Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Aviston.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. and again on Monday, August 15, 2015 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Robert G. “Smitty” Rickhoff, age 83 of Breese, IL, born August 11, 1932 in Lookingglass Twp, IL to the late Henry and Frances, nee Luebke, Rickhoff, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at his residence.
Smitty was a Veteran of the United States Army, retired from the Jefferson-Smurfit Corp. in Highland, IL, and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese, IL, Breese American Legion Post 252, Carlyle VFW Post 3523, and the United Steelworkers Local 1215.
Surviving is his wife Lucille, nee Bergmann, Rickhoff, of Breese, IL, whom he married September 4, 1956 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers, IL; his daughters, Nancy Huelsmann and husband Dale and Marla Strieker and husband Curt all of Breese, IL; 3 grandchildren, Nicole Voss and husband Scott, Jason “Jay” Strieker and wife Brittany, and Courtney Strieker; 3 great-grandchildren, Maddie Voss, Tucker and Tinley Strieker; his siblings, Paul “Massey” Rickhoff and wife Betty of Bartelso, IL and Loretta “Tootie” Trame of Carlyle, IL; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Ann Gehrs and husband Jim of Swansea, IL and Sally Bergmann of Alpharetta, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Alfred “Bigfoot” Rickhoff; a sister, Bernice Loepker; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, August “Augie” Trame, Fronie Rickhoff, Vic Loepker, Ceil and Ferdie Thien, Adele and August Sundrup. A Memorial Mass will be Friday, August 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese, IL with Fr. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow in St. Dominic~St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese, IL.
Visitation will held Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, August 14, 2015 from 9:00-9:45 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese, IL.

Thomas J. “Tom” Snyder, age 84 of Pocahontas, IL and formerly of Northlake, IL, born November 29, 1930 in Chicago, IL to the late George and Alyce, nee Bechtel, Snyder, died Sunday, August 2, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Snyder was a veteran of the United State Marine Corps., and retired as an Executive in the life claims division of Bankers Life and Casualty Insurance Company. He enjoyed square dancing, cars, and guns.
Surviving is his wife Patricia, nee Blum, Snyder of Pocahontas, whom he married February 5, 1955 in Schiller Park, IL; his children, Mark Snyder and wife Charlene of Centralia, IL, Neal Snyder and wife Jill of Hoffman Estates, IL, Dale Snyder and wife Brenda of Northlake, IL and Amy Ciborowski and husband Mike of Trenton, IL; 7 grandchildren, Chris Snyder and wife Jena, Cory Snyder, Rob Snyder, Connie Ramirez and husband Danny, Tim Snyder, Keith Ciborowski, and Kyle Ciborowski; siblings, Dona Hayden of Venice, FL, Jesse Snyder and wife Deborah of Venice, FL, and Susan Minckley and husband David of Berwyn, IL; and sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Alice Snyder of Davenport, IA and Joy Jeschke and husband John of Branson, MO.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Myra Snyder; a grandson, Keven Ciborowski; a brother, Gordon Snyder; and brothers-in-law, Thomas Hayden, Dennis Blum, and Richard Blum.

Alvin (“Al”) F. Schroeder, 93, of Bartelso, died on Saturday, August 1, 2015 surrounded by his family. Al was born April 2, 1922 in Bartelso, the son of Henry and Caroline (Eilers) Schroeder. Following his service in the Navy during World War II, Al married Wilhelmine Ripperda on August 6, 1946 in St. Rose, and she passed away on May 19, 2013.
Al was a carpenter and worked for many years for Fournie Contracting in Belleville until his retirement in 1987. Upon his retirement, Al built a home in Bartelso and spent his time woodworking, playing cards and simply enjoying his family and retirement. Al was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso and its Mens Sodality, and since May 1942 a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Bartelso Council No. 4745. Al was also a member of the VFW of Bartelso and Trenton and the American Legion of Bartelso.
Al is survived by five children: Patricia Albers of New Baden, Mary Lou (Paul) Sutphin of Belleville, Sharon (Ken) Albers of Germantown, Susan (Bob) Hoff of O’Fallon and David (Cathie) Schroeder of Aviston; a son-in-law, Jim Robke of Aviston; fourteen grandchildren: Mike (Sharon) Robke, Lynn (Mike) Mallott, Cheryl (Tim) Heath, Angie (Terry) Becherer, Mark (Devon Hayden) Albers, Robyn (Brian) Friederich, Clint (Chrissie) Albers, Kathleen (Polly Johnston) Wildhaber, Keith (Victoria) Wildhaber, Raquel (Craig) Koerkenmeier, Jared (Lisa) Schroeder, Elizabeth (Ryan Thole) Schroeder, Alicia (David) Hobart and Ryan (Katie) Johnson; one step-grandchild: Katie Hoff; eighteen great-grandchildren: Kaley and Tyler Robke, Cheyenne and Todd Heath, Garrett and Abby Becherer, Claire and Cami Friederich, Laney and Brandon Albers, Allison and Jacob Koerkenmeier, Lacey and Sophie Schroeder, Shawn Noel, Lindsey and Brett Yearian and Riley Johnson; one step-great-grandchild: Amanda Bobby; and one step-great-great-grandchild: Ethan Bobby; brothers Frank (Agnes) Schroeder of Bartelso and Cletus Schroeder of Germantown; and sister-in-laws Dorothy Schroeder and Joanie Schroeder, both of Germantown, Mary Ann Brueggemann of Belleville, and Janet Ripperda and Elinor Ripperda, both of Highland.

Constance M. “Connie” Ganz 65 of Germantown died Friday July 24, 2015 at Countryside Manor in Aviston.
She was born December 7, 1949 in E. St. Louis to Norbert and Dorothy (Lickenbrock) Friederich and they preceded her in death.
Also preceded in death by twin brothers in infancy Floyd and Lloyd Friederich, father-in-law and mother-in-law Jerome “Jack” and Helen (Hund) Ganz, nephew and godchild Michael Friederich.
She married Jerome “Jerry” Ganz November 11, 1972 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah and he survives.
